Compare China Product Prices Without Fake Savings Claims
A listing price is not a saving. Record the same specification, quantity, delivery destination, payment protection, and return assumptions for every route, then compare the complete landed cost.
Six numbers required for a fair comparison
Use current checkout screens or written quotations. Do not compare an unbranded China listing with a branded local product unless the material, dimensions, test standard, warranty, and included accessories are equivalent.
| Cost field | Evidence to record |
|---|---|
| Item price | Current product page or written supplier quotation |
| China domestic delivery | Seller or agent checkout line item |
| Agent and inspection fees | Published fee schedule and selected services |
| International freight | Quote using packed dimensions, weight, postcode, and product type |
| Duty, tax, and carrier fees | Destination customs guidance and carrier terms |
| Expected loss and return cost | Defect allowance, realistic return address, and payment protection |
Landed-cost formula
Item + China delivery + agent/inspection + international freight + duty/tax/carrier fees + expected defect/return loss = comparable landed cost
Before choosing the lower number
Confirm both offers use the same specification and quantity.
Check whether tax and duty are prepaid or collected later.
Value the delivery window and return path realistically.
Save dated screenshots because prices and policies change.
